Implementation of genomic medicine can contribute significantly to sustainable development and the health and wellbeing of individuals and society. Providing access to genomic medicine should be an important consideration for all governments across the world as they strive to provide their people with Universal Health Coverage with the view to achieving Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030.

Genomic Medicine Implementation in Low Resources Settings – South America

The 5th G2MC International Conference will be held in Santiago, Chile on May 6-8, 2020. Leaders in genomic medicine across the globe will be attending this highly interactive meeting to define collaborative projects and strategies that will serve the global community to implement genomic advances to improve clinical care. This is the first G2MC conference to be organized in South America and will focus on the implementation of Genomic Medicine in low resource settings. The conference will include a Young Investigators Forum, as well as a Genomic Medicine Bootcamp planned for May 9.

2020 International Conference on Birth Defects and Disabilities

To those G2MC members who are interested, the 9th International Conference on Birth Defects and Disabilities in the Developing World will be held from 23 – 26 February 2020. The conference will be hosted by the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) and will be co-sponsored by March of Dimes, USA and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
