ABOUT G2MC

Overview

The Global Genomic Medicine Consortium (G2MC) is creating a community of global leaders dedicated to advancing genomic medicine implementation in clinical care.

G2MC is identifying opportunities to foster global collaboration to demonstrate value and the effective use of genomics in medicine. The G2MC was started as an ‘action collaborative’ in the United States National Academies of Medicine and also was supported by the National Human Genome Research Institute of the NIH. Now as an independent not-for-profit charitable organization, it seeks to improve global health by catalyzing the implementation of genomic tools and knowledge into health care delivery globally.

Mission

To leverage and nurture global expertise, create practical, real world solutions, and disseminate knowledge for implementing genomic medicine in diverse settings around the world.

Vision

Genomic Medicine for everyone.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity

“We are committed to diversity, inclusion and equity in our mission.  The G2MC is a supportive environment in which colleagues from diverse backgrounds and demographics can excel.

We see our community as equal in terms of stature and opportunities to contribute.  We bridge language barriers, increase opportunities for funding, partnerships, and participation from all of the members and stakeholders we serve.”

What We Do

To achieve it’s mission, G2MC works collaboratively with its active members to:

  • Serve as nexus, clearinghouse, and knowledge base for genomic medicine activities globally
  • Develop opportunities for global genomic medicine demonstration projects (implementation and outcomes research)
  • Capture and disseminate best practices for genomic medicine (in bioinformatics, education, evidence, pharmacogenomics, policy) across the global genomic medicine community

Who We Help

G2MC identifies economical and achievable ways that clinicians and health ministers can implement genomic medicine into clinical practice and have a positive impact on health outcomes.
