Teji Rakhra-Burris and Dr. Bruce Korf to Represent G2MC on National Academies Roundtable

We are pleased to share that Teji Rakhra-Burris, GGMC President & CEO, and Dr. Bruce Korf, Interim Co-Chair of G2MC, will represent the Global Genomic Medicine Consortium (G2MC) on the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Roundtable on Genomics and Precision Health. This role was previously represented by Dr. Geoffrey Ginsburg, founder and former President of G2MC, who served on the NASEM Roundtable on Genomics and Precision Health for more than 15 years. Dr. Ginsburg is stepping away from the Roundtable to focus on his role as Chief Medical and Scientific Officer with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program, and is pleased that Ms. Rakhra-Burris and Dr. Korf will continue G2MC’s representation on the Roundtable.

The Roundtable brings together leaders from government, academia, industry, foundations, associations, patient communities, and health systems, and in doing so serves to drive innovation, spur adoption, drive equity, and shape the policy dialogue on genomics and precision health. Roundtable activities, including public workshops, membership meetings, Action Collaboratives, and other information-gathering activities, provide opportunities for discussing pressing challenges and developments in the field to highlight potential solutions, encourage collaboration, and identify areas for action.

The impetus for the G2MC organization arose from the 2014 Global Leaders in Genomic Medicine Summit, and was an ad hoc activity associated with the NASEM Roundtable on Genomics and Precision Health. G2MC is proud to continue its affiliation with the Roundtable, representing G2MC members and discovering opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
